Chance Meeting-An Avatar Story

~Sorin~

After walking for a little while, we got to the hole that Summer and I used earlier.

"Alright, this is how we'll get in." I said, motioning to the hole.

~Star~

I examined the hole Sorin said we'd use to get in.

"Looks easy enough," I said, supressing a sigh. I couldn't complain; at least we were getting in in the first place.

~Sorin~

I smiled slightly, glad that they didn't mind it was a hole, then got down on my stomach and started to crawl through it. Summer followed soon after, then everyone else.

~Star~

Once we got into the city through the small hole, I stood up and dusted myself off. Then I looked at the city. It was...pretty big. But that's all I can say about that....When my memories traced back to the night the Fire Nation attacked my village, hate pretty much blurred my vision of the beautiful town.

~Sorin~

I turned around to make sure that everybody had come out of the hole. Almost everyone had, except for Sokka, who had somehow gotten a little.....stuck after ha had gotten halfway out. I sighed, then spoke.

"Well, after someone can help Sokka get out of the hole, we can get going. When Summer and I were here, I noticed that the prison is up on this high hill, on the other side of the crater." I said.

~Star~

I pretty much ignored Sorin until something he said caught my attention. So the Fire Nation prison wasn't going to be that hard to find? I guess that'd be good for us. It would give us more time to scower the prison, and less time having to try to find it. That would, of course, work to our advantage....

I saw Katara walk past me, and that's what brought me back to reality. Apperantly, Sokka had gotten stuck in the hole we all used to get through the crater. I sighed, and watched Katara pull him free.

~Sorin~

I watched as Katara pulled Sokka out, and Sokka looking a little embarassed as he realized we were all watching. I turned back around, starting to walk towards the direction of the prison.

~Star~

Empty-mindedly (), I followed Sorin again. I looked around the up-coming city, registering all of the stuff in my mind.

~Summer~

I walked next to Sorin, trying to keep from looking at any of the people around us.

"They're evil, all of them." I muttered/whispered to Sorin, scowling.

"You don't know that." He said, his voice low as well. "Who knows? Maybe some of them are nice people." He said. I scoffed, shaking my head.

"That's like saying the Fire Lord isn't evil."

(O_o SOMEONE'S a little paranoid.....)

~Star~

I overheard Sorin and Summer's conversation, though I wasn't really intending on doing so. I was kinda on Summer's side with this. Alot of the people here ARE evil....I looked around, grimacing as I saw all the people stare back....

~Sorin~

After about maybe five or six minutes of walking, we got to the base of the hill I had saw. The tower that was the prison was practically looming on front of us. I took a moment to stare at it, then started to climb up the hill.

~Star~

I was nearly tramautized from the prison at first- I'm not sure why-, but soon enough, I followed Sorin and the others up the hill. I was still staggering behind, which made me kind of nervous. With the looks people were giving me, it felt like someone would run out of nowhere and snatch me up any minute now....

I sped up my walking a little, and got a little closer to everyone else as we climbed up the hill.

~Sorin~

Finally, we came to the front of the prison. The sun was starting to go down, and it would soon be dark.

I let out a long sigh, then took a step towards the door(Is there a door? ^^').

(Sure! Why not! )

~Star~

Once everyone stopped at the door for a second, I walked up to Sorin.

"So, how do you expect for us to get in? I mean, we can't just walk in there. Won't they think it's...I don't know, suspicious, maybe?" I asked, in a whisper-like tone.

~Sorin~

I turned my head so that only one side of my face was facing everyone else.

"You're right....we'll have to find another way in. We have no way of telling if there's a guard on the other side of that door." I said.

~Star~

I nodded my head in agreement. I looked around the building, trying to find another way in.

"Maybe we could...sneak in....?" I suggested in another whisper-tone kinda voice. I continued to look around, trying to find another way in still. Nothing caught my eye. Maybe there was a way in the back....

~Summer~

I scanned around the area, hoping that we could find another way in. We HAD to get in there. Not just for Sorin's parents, but.....well, we just had to get in.

"Let's look around." I suggested, starting to walk around to the other side of the tower."

~Star~

"Good idea," I said, following Sumer to the other side of the tower. I was examining every part of the buillding I could without looking suspicous. We had to find a way in, and I was willing to do anything to get in. If I had to....No, I wouldn't even consider that idea....or would I.....?
I thought it over for a second, which made me stop in my tracks. Again, I started to lag behind everyone else.
When they weren't looking, I walked down to the town, looking for something that could get me into enough trouble....

(Hmm...I wonder what Star's plan is? )

(Hm.....Oh! I bet she's gonna steal something so that she gets thrown in the prison! )

~Sorin~

I glanced behind us, and noticed that Star was gone. I looked around, and she was nowhere to be seen.

"Hey..." I started. "Where's Star?"

(Hmm...Maybe....)

~Star~

I probably wasn't so far away that the gang couldn't see me. I probably just blended in with everyone else.

As I thought over what I was about to do, I realized something. This was going way beyond just helping Sorin and his parents. For a second, I actually forgot that's the whole reason we were here right now. Now, though, this was for me. With someone's help or no, I was going to get into that prison somehow. There was a fifty-fifty chance that someone I really needed to find was in there....

A few moments later, I looked back, and saw that everyone was looking for me. Good, maybe they couldn't see me. Now was my chance. A little street shop caught my eye, just as I noticed someone in the group notice me.....

(Hmm...)

(Anyone in particular you wanted to notice her, or should I just pick someone? ^^')

(Nah, you can just pick someone! ^^)

(Hm....okay! Now...who should I pick....? )

~Summer~

When I heard Sorin speak, I turned around, and noticed that Star was gone.

Where IS she? I thought, almost a little mad at her for delaying us.

I sighed as I noticed that everyone was going to look for her. I started looking as well, and after about a minute, I noticed her wandering around down in the marketplace. I looked at the others, who were still looking for her, and decided not to say anything. Instead, I started to walk down the hill towards her.

~Star~

I noticed that Summer was coming towards me.

Now's my only chance, I thought. Do it now, or do it never....

I casually walked over to the little outdoor shop I had seen. I saw a decarative vase, and took it, trying to make sure everyone saw it. Of course, to my dismay, nobody saw me take it.....They were all too busy with everyday life. I sighed, then thought of something else. What else COULD I do...? That's when I thought of something. I found the nearest person who was looking at the shop, and did it. I took the vase-thing from behind my back, and threw it as hard as I could. I heard a yelp come from my throat as the man turned around. He was HUGE ()!

"Who threw that?!" he yelled, and I had to work up my courage to answer.

"I did!" I screamed, my voice sounding like a child's compared to his.

(Ooh, Star's in some serious trouble....I wonder what'll happen....)

~Summer~

My eyes widened as I watched Star throw a vase at this HUGE guy.

What in the world is she doing?! I thought.

I sighed, then ran over towards her.
