Sword Fighting Show Down

He almost sounding disappointed. But I stood up anyway, walking over to where my bag lay (yes, she brought a bag with her). I pulled out a fresh piece of paper and a pen; I always carry stuff like this in case of emergencies.
I stayed in the shadows of the trees, and touched the pen to the paper. I thought over what I was going to put.....I decided to make it simple.

'Dear Zuko,' was how I started it. I bit my lip, trying to think of what I should put.

'I really do miss you, but I have to be honest. I don't regret leaving you now.'

I looked over at Jonathan and smiled.

'I just thought it was the best thing for me to do....I was just writing back to let you know that I was okay. And I will forgive you if you forget all the things that were said that night. I hope you change your mind about things....'

I re-read what I wrote, making sure I was happy with what it said. When I finished that, I put the pen to the paper once more.

As I squeezed out my shirt, I watched Lynn write her letter. She looked my way once, and I immediately turned my face to my shirt. When she looked back to her letter, I turned my head back towards her. After a while, she was finished. I piped up.

"So...how are you going to send it?" I asked.

"Like this," I stood up, and walked to a tree that was nearby. Then I made a whistling noise, and the same messanger hawk came flying down from the tree. I put the letter in the little holder on its back, and sent it away. I stared at it while it flew away. Then I looked back over at Jonathan.

"Oh," I said, wondering where the hawk had come from. I looked away and went back to wringing out my shirt. After a while, I was done. My shirt was horribly wrinkled, though.

I stood there in my place for a few minutes before walking back over to the fire. I sat across the fire from Jonathan, watching the flames dance.

I slipped my shirt over my head, and onto my body, It was still damp, but not as soaked as before. I sighed and closed my eyes. I wanted to sleep, but I felt like I couldn't.

I gently threw myself onto my back, gazing up at the stars. Because of the coming dawn, they were disappearing. Might as well enjoy them as I can, I thought.
I tried to get some rest, but my mind was racing too fast. Too many thoughts were going through my head. I kept my eyes concentrated on the fading stars, trying to clear my head. And, soon enough, I got tired enough to close my eyes. I quickly fell asleep, dreaming sweet dreams.

I finally opened my eyes again and saw that Lynn had fallen asleep. I decided to try to sleep. I lied down on my back and closed my eyes.

When I woke up and opened my eyes, I realized it was bright again. I sat up, streched out my arms, and yawned.

I had fallen asleep about an hour after I lied down, and just as I had expected, I had another nightmare. This time, I was in a dark room, with nothing around me. I could hear something, like cries for help. I couldn't make out who it was, but I knew I had to help them. I ran in one direction for what seemed like hours until finally I came to another room. My eyes widened as I saw Lynn on the ground, with that boy from before above her. He had his sword above her, and just as he was bringing it down on her, I woke up, sitting jolt upright. I yelled the word "No!". I looked around, my face drenched with sweat. Lynn was sitting there, awake now.

I had been awake for about 15 or 20 minutes before Jonathan bolted upright and screamed the word "No!".

"What's wrong?" I asked him, not so concerned-sounding. He probably just had a nightmare or something. No need to worry yourself, I thought.

I was breathing heavily, and it took me a moment to answer.

"N-nothing," I lied. "Just a bad dream."

I sighed, a headache making my head boom.

"Oh, okay," I said, smiling slightly. Then I heard my stomach growl. That's when I realized how hungry I was.

"So...What are we going to do about food?" I asked casually. It was the only thing I could think to say.

I blinked, then realized how hungry I was. I had been thinking about Elandri, but figured she must've been cooling off.

"Um, maybe we could see if there's any fish in that lake? We could use our swords or something to catch them." I suggested.

"Hmm....I guess that'll work," I replied. It didn't sound very easier. But it sounded better than starving to death, that's for sure. I walked over to where my bag and swords were laying. Then I grabbed my two sheathed swords, and walked back over by Jonathan.
For no real reason, I remembered about that Elandri girl I had met yesterday. She stormed off into the woods, but she hadn't return yet.
"Hey, do you have any idea what happened to Elandri?" I asked Jonathan, looking off into the forest.

I looked away.

"We kind were fighting....she's just so annoying. And how she was teasing me...anyway, she's just cooling off or something where I left her. She didn't want my help." I sighed and started to walk back towards the field where the lake was.

"Oh," I simply stated. Then I caught up with Jonathan, following him. I had no idea where the lake was. But apperantly he did. So I just followed him silenty, slinging my swords onto my back.

After a few minutes of walking in silence, we came out of the forest into the field. I looked over at the sparkling lake and smiled.

"C'mon," I said, walking towards the lake.

I was awed by the sparkling lake in front of us. It was so beautiful; Then again, I hadn't seen a lake like this in a while.
I slowly walked over to the shore of the lake, unsheathing both of my caol-black swords swiftly.

I took my sword and bgean looking in the shallows of the water, hoping I would find something.

I looked down into the lake as well, looking for fish.
"I'm not very good at fishing," I said, rubbing the back of my neck sheepishly.
"I'm better at-"
Wait, what was that noise? I turned around to see a fairly small deer scurrying away a few feet away from us. I turned my whole body around quickly, throwing one of my swords swiftly at the deer like a spear. To my extreme luck, it hit the deer in the stomach. It staggered for a few feet before falling to the ground, dead.
"...Hunting," I continued, laughing a little at the ironic event.

I turned when I heard her say that, and noticed the deer. I laughed a little, wondering how my vegan friend would feel about me eating deer. I walked over to the deer and pulled out the sword.

I took my sword back from Jonathan's hand, then looked back at the deer.
"You think that'll be enough?" I asked, my stomach growling again.

"Yeah, that'll probably be good." I said, picking the deer up.

"I'll cut it up when we get back to camp."

"Alright," I replied, walking off back towards camp. I put my one clean sword back in it's sheath, waiting to wipe the other one down when we got back to camp.
