Sword Fighting Show Down

At that moment I remembered why I utterly loathe dresses. I could hardly breathe in the posh bodice, and I always managed to fall over the hem of the dress. Sure, it looks nice, but it's not comfortable at all. "Cat got your tongue?" I asked casually.

"N-n-no." I stuttered stupidly. For some reason, I could battle utterly repulsive monsters, but I had a huge weakness for pretty girls, especially when they were in pretty dresses. So, I was trying not to say anything as not to make a fool of myself.

I rolled my eyes. I seemed to be doing that a lot around Jonathan.Cheh, hormones, I concluded straight to the point. "So, got any friends or accomplices or something with you?" I asked him, wondering if there was any decent company around.

"Well, th-there's Lynn. But she wasn't really "with me". She sorta wandered into my campsite when you were out." I explained.

"Lynn? Heaven help me, where is she?" I asked, hoping he hadn't abandoned her or something.

"Don't worry, she's fine! She's in the forest near our campsite. See...there had been this person who kept on appearing and sort of...mocking us. So, we finally went after them. The first time I ran after them, I tripped over a root right when I was close enough to grab them, and sprained my ankle. A little while later, Lynn saw them again and ran after them. She caught them and we questioned them. They wouldn;t say anything, and my ankle was throbbing so I came back to the campsite. Lynn's tough, and SHE'S not in any pain, so I figure she can probably get some answers outta them."

"Right. You're really loyal..." I mused bitterly, biting my finger nail, frustrated. I shrugged this off a moved away towards where the camp fire had been, staring into the charred wood.

"Yeah, I know, I suck. My ankle, it's just...I must've broken it or something." I watched her walk over to the fire, or what was left of it. I limped over and without even thinking-which was very, very stupid of me-I 'zapped' the wood, setting it on fire. I suppose I had gotten much too comfortable with Elandri, and completely frogot I WASN'T supposed to be using my powers. Nice going, Wayne, I though, you probably just freaked her out.

I cocked an eyebrow at my companion. Was it he who had made the wood set fire again, or was it just my imagination...? "What was that?" I asked slowly.

I couldn't hide it from her, but I tried to lie anyway.

"Uhh....nothing?" I said, smiling through clenched teeth. I could tell she knew I was lying.

(Gotta go, be back in an hour. Will you still be online?)

(Probably not...my mom will probably make me get off by then...oh well, guess I'll see you later!)

I saw him getting uncomfortable about the whole situation, so I cocked an eyebrow and dismissed it. Why give someone a hard time over nothing?

I let out a smal sigh when she didn't say anything. I grabbed a book out of my pack and decided to read. I loved reading, but I hardly ever got to.

The cloaked figure still wouldn't answer me. And Jonathan had left. Great, I thought sarcasticly.

I pressed the edge of my sword into the person's rib cage a little more.
"Answer me!" I nearly yelled.

And then everything happened so fast. The figure bent down swiftly, grabbing their sword from the ground. The hood fell from over their head, and now I could see that it was a guy, probably only a little older than me. He had a grim look on his face.
"I don't think so, sweetheart," he hissed, pushing me away. I nearly fell, but I caught myself before I hit the ground.
And then he was standing a few feet away, his sword in position. When he pushed me, I had dropped one of my swords. But that didn't matter. Because when his sword missed my stomach but inches, he hit my arm, making a small cut. But my other sword dropped to the ground, as well. When I glanced up at the boy, his sword was pulled back. But by the time I realized what he was doing, it was too late. I fell to the ground, trying to supress a scream. But it escaped my lips. My squel of pain even hurt my own ears....

(Okay, sorry it was kinda long. I just had to...make up for lost grounds. )

We had been sitting there a while and Lynn still wasn't back. I was worried. I sat up.

"I'm going to go look for Lynn. I want to make sure she's okay. Stay here." I said. I limped away, leaving Elandri there.

I thought I had heard a scream or something earlier, but I figured it was a bird. When I was closer, I noticed a figure on the ground. I soon realized who it was, and my heart stopped. I ran as fast as I could. I didn't care about the pain anymore. All I cared about was Lynn was on the ground, bleeding. I got to her and lookedf around. The person from earlier was nowhere in sight. I bent down next to her, my heart now going a million miles an hour.

As I looked up, opening my eyes weakly, I could see Jonathan hovering over me. Now he comes back, I thought to myself. I stiffled a sigh, which hurt my stomach. Since everything had happened so fast, I didn't know where that boy had stabbed me. But now I was guessing it was somewhere near my stomach.

I tried sitting up, but I got dizzy, and fell back down. I was still concious, I was just in pain. Lots of pain....

At least she's concious, I thought to myself. But her stomach was practically gushing blood. I had to stop that. But first, I wanted to know what happened.

"Lynn, what happened?!" I yelled.

Jonathan yelled something, and it hurt my head. I couldn't understand what he had asked me, and it took me a second to answer.

"W-what?" I asked him, realizing how weak my voice sounded.

I asked her again, but quieter.

"I said, what happened?"

"Oh," I replied, taking a deep breath.

"Well," I continued,"that guy we kept running into stabbed me with his sword.....I don't know, it all happened so fast, and.....But he got away....." I said, trying to think over what just happened.

"Alright, let's go." I said, trying to hide my guilt. I should've stayed. I picked her up and carried her in my arms, starting back towards camp. My ankle felt like it was on fire, but I had no choice.

As he picked me up, I looked down at my stomach. That's when I noticed that it was nearly gushing out blood. I closed my eyes tightly and took a deep breath. This was bad. This was really bad....

"Hey, Lynn?" I started. "How exactly do you think I can stop the bleeding? We don't have any gauze or whatever."

"Um...." I thought, my eyes still closed tightly. "I know adding pressure to it will stop the bleeding......" That was all I could think to say.
