Cool Zone Convention

"Yeah," I said, looking at my keycard. It said that we(Or at least I) was on the third floor. I looked around for some stairs, and noticed some elevators. Next to them was the door that led to the stairs.

"You guys can take the elevator if you want," I said, hating elevators.

"Nah, I'm good," I started. "I'll take the stairs." I really hated elevators....

I looked at my key card thing. It said that I was on the third floor.

"Hey, do we have the same room, or are we all in different rooms?" I asked, curious. I would like to have a room to myself, but maybe, if we had the same hotel room, there would be different rooms in the room. But, either way, I didn't mind.

I sat watching the pay tv in my room. I was getting so sick of re-runs of Ghost in the Shell, and I was worried I would get fat from eating too much Ramen.
I thought I heard footsteps outside the room, and wondered if it was the housemaid again.
She was a little, bent over old lady. Why couldn't she be like the housemaids in anime, with a little frilly skirt on and high heels, 16 years old and feeling frisky?
Pushing such vulgar thoughts from my mind, I opened the door a crack and peeked into the hall.

"Okay," I said, and walked towards the stairs. We all walked up the stairs, me going super slow. The bad thing about hating elevators with me, is that I also despise stairs. But stairs are safer, and they have rails.

It only took us a minute or so to get to the third floor. As we walked down the hall, someone opened their door a little. I couldn't help but glance to the side, and notice a teenager, maybe fifteen or so, peeking out at me. I don't know why, but I just had this feeling, so...

"Kip?" I asked.

'That's m'name, don't wear it out!' I said in my awesome Australian accent.
'I am guessing, from your obvious intelligence, that you are Kayla and Rachel...?" I gushed. THe two nodded.
Adjusting my sonata arctica T-shirt, I approached the girl who had spoke my name.
'So, Star, my nemesis! We meet at last!' I declared dramatically.
I turned to the other girl, who was wearing a beanine.
'And you must be Kayla, flower of my heart.' I crooned softly.

'Ummm, I'm Star.' She said. 'That's Kayla.

I stopped mi9d sentence and blushed.

I had followed Star and Kayla silently, having already told my parents that I was going with some friends that I had already met. I watched from behind the two other girls, out of eyeshot of the guy that could only be Kip from the Cool Zone. I laughed inwardly as Kip mixed the two up, and Kayla and Star's baffled expressions.

Biting the inside of my cheek, I rubbed the toe of my boot on the carpet, feeling a bit awkward, even though Kip hadn't spotted me yet. Trying to be inconspicuous, and failing miserably, might I add, I coughed rather loudly, trying to get the others' attention.

I couldn't help but chuckle slightly at Kip's little mix up.

"Yeah, I'm Kayla," I said, smiling a little. "Nice to finally meet you, Kip."

I heard El couch slightly from behind us, and realized that Kip hadn't even noticed her.

"And that's El...She's here with her family, and we kind of ran into each other at the airport," I explained, my voice getting quieter with every word. I'm so very, very shy around people.

I saw another girl standing a little way away.
Aprroaching her, I held out my hand so she could shake it.
'I'm terribly sorry I overlooked our presence, you must be Elandri. I'm KIp, pleased to meet you.' I said.
Elandri stared at me uncertainly. I laughed nervously.

I laughed quietly as Kip had gotten Kayla and I mixed up.

"Wait," I stated, bringing Kip's attention back. "I'm your nemesis? Uhm...cool." I said, shrugging.

"Now, while you guys...chat, I'm gonna go find my- or our, or whatever- the room I will be staying in, to put my stuff up. I'll be right back." With that, I looked at my key card again, and headed down the hall. We were room 136 (random number). I used the key to open the door, and looked inside. It was a fairly large room, but it was by far way better than any hotel room I had ever stayed at back in America. I threw my stuff in the corner and looked around the rest of the hotel room.

"Yeah, I think I'll do the same. I'll be right back," I said, looking at my keycard. Room 137. I walked down the hall, and noticed mine was next to Star's. I opened the door with the keycard, and used my foot to turn the handle/kick the door open, my arms being occupied with my stuff.

The room was way nice, and way big. In the far left corner was a bed. Across from that was a TV, next to that a desk. There was window next to the bed, the curtains wide open, letting the sun shine in brightly. I put my bags on the floor, turned on the light to the room, and closed the curtain. I got enough of that blaring sunlight in Florida.

The room layout was fairly simple. There was a somewhat large bed by one wall, a TV on the other side of the room, across from it. There was a desk in front of a window, just what I needed. I never got enough sunlight when I was on the computer, but now I could have an open curtain in front of me if I ever got on my laptop here. The curtain was closed, so I opened it, letting the light flood into the room.

I walked into another room, the bathroom. It was fairly small, but nearly two times bigger than my bathroom at home. The wallpaper was a little tacky, but I could live with it. I set down the bag that had my make-up, shampoo, hair straightener, and such onto the sink's counter thing.

After I got down observing the room, I walked back out into the hallway.

"The rooms are pretty awesome. Well, mine is, at least." I stated randomly, not sure if all the rooms were the same or not.

'Mine is so full of stuff from being here so long.' I told Star, nervously scratching the back of my head. 'Hehehe, as Spaz a Lot would say, Spaz Spaz spaz.' I laughed nervously.

I put all my stuff on my bed, and took some stuff out. I had figured it'd just be easy to avoid the hassle at security by not wearing my spiked belt. I hate that it makes metal detectors go off.

Anyway, I put it through the loops on my jeans, put my two rings on, one with the Ying-Yang symbol that goes on my index finger, and a chain-like ring that goes on my middle finger. I looked down at my ssweater, a striped sweater that I had worn just so that I wouldn't be cold or anything on the plane. I decided I'd change. I pulled my jersey-looking shirt with Batman on the front out of my luggage. Then I put on my blact jakcet/hoodie-thingy, with Jack from The Nightmare Before Christmas on it, and left the room.

Star had already finished looking at her room, I guess, because she was already back with the others. I walked towards them, then spoke.
"Rooms are pretty nice," I said to no one in particular.

('Tis what I would most likely do...It's cold on planes sometimes...)

((I have no idea what I usually do on a plane trip, for I have never been on a plane! '^^))

"Yeah," I agreed as Kayla left her room and came back out into the hallway. "They're pretty nice."
Then there was an awkward silence.

"Soo...." I said, breaking the silence, like always. "Oh! Did I look anything like you guys imagined? I mean, all the pictures I sent were kinda old and stuff..." I said the last part mostly to Kayla, and that question was just one that I had wanted to ask since I met Kayla and Elandri at the airport.

"Um...yeah, I guess." I said, after a short, awkward silence. No one said anything else for a few more moments, so I decided to say something.

"So...um...what do you guys want to do?" I asked.

"Hmm...." I said, thinking. "Y'know, I really have no idea. I guess we could check out the rest of the hotel?" I suggested, not able to think of anything else. I nervously tugged on the keychain attached to my belt loop. I traced my finger over Gir empty-mindedly, waiting for a reply.

"Okay," I sound, interested in seeing what else this hotel had.

"I guess anything they'd probably have would be downstairs, so maybe we should head down there..." I said.

I looked at Kayla and Smiled.
'I'm all for going downstairs. Ther's a great Ramen place across the road if you guys are hungry.' I suggested, looking around.

"I'm starving...All I've had to eat recently is one of those little bags of peanuts the flight attendants give you, and some sprite...I hate sprite, but I was dying of thirst.." I said, kind of...rambling.

"Sorry...um...ramen sounds good to me," I said, kind of....replacing my rambling with that.

"Sure," I agreed with the two. "Some ramen sounds great!" I hadn't eaten anything since I was in America. I didn't eat anything on the plane; not sure why, I just hadn't wanted to....

I double checked my pockets, just to make sure I had everything I needed. I had my phone, some money in this wallet-like thingy I always carried, and some gum. That should be all I needed.

(By the way....any idea what the name of the currency that they use in Tokyo/Japan is? ^^')

(Uhmm...something like Yen...or maybe that's Chinese? '^^)

(That's what I was thinking...I just wanted to make sure. I'll just go with that until someone else(El or Kip) can confirm/deny. ^^)

"Okay....Then...I guess, let's go?" I asked, checking to see if everyone was ready.

"Right," I said, laughing awkwardly. I adjusted my beanie a little, ran my fingers through my hair, just making sure it wasn't tangled or something.

When no one else moved, I started walking forward. I decided to take the elevator this time, knowing it would be faster. I pressed the button that would take us- or me, if no one else wanted to ride the elevator- to the main floor. I stood there, waiting for the doors to open.

I followed after Star, who was taking the elevator down. I opened the door to the stairs, and looked at her, waiting for the elevator.

"I'll meet you guys downstairs," I said.
