Cool Zone Convention

"I don't know...Probably. He was kind of closer," I said, suddenly all excited again. I'd completely forgotten that I'd get to meet Kip, one of my best friends, also! This was turning into one of my best days in a long time.

(Gasp! How could you forget about Kip?! (xP))

"Yeah, he's probably already at the hotel," I stated, now eager to get to the hotel. Kip was deffinatly one of my best friends, too, and since I had just met Elandri and Kayla, Kip was the only one left.

Hmm, I think it should be illegal to feel this happy over meeting some your best friends.

I glanced at El, who was still on the phone. I was now itching to get going, and was hoping that she'd be ready to go soon. Suddenly, I remembered that my mom had wanted me to call her as soon as I got there. Since I don't own a cell phone, I started to look around and noticed some pay phones against a wall about twenty feet away. I looked back at Star and spoke.

"I'll be right back," I started, "My mom wanted me to call her after I got here."

"Uhm, okay. You can use my cell phone, if you want. I mean, it's free. And it's not a pay phone." I offered, hating the pay phones myself.
Who knows how many people used those a day, and who knew how many of them didn't wash their hands? I shuddered at the thought.

"Okay...sure," I said, smiling a little. She handed me her phone and I instantly dialed my mom's cell. She answered after a few rings.

"Hello?" She said, sounding kind of tired. I instantly remembered that it was probably night over in America.

"Hey," I said, kind of quiet. "I got here a little while ago...Almost forgot to call you," I said, laughing a little.

"Is Star there?" She asked.

"Yeah...and so's El."

"El?"

"Yeah, you know...Elandri," I said. The only friend of mine she ever remembered was Star.

"Sure," She said, obviously not really remembering.

"Anyway...just wanted to call you and tell you I got here," I said, trying to get off the phone.

"Alright...call me later. Love you."

"Yeah...love you, too," I said quietly, then hung up.

(Seriously! My mom always forgets about El...She only ever remembers Star...^^')

When Kayla handed me my red phone back, I dialed my mom's cell number. Knowing it would be night over in America, I wasn't surprised when it went to her voicemail. I left a message, basically telling her that I had made it okay, and that I was about to go to the hotel we would be staying in. I also told her to call me back whenever she got the chance.

Once I put my phone back into my pocket, I noticed that El was also off the phone. I smiled.

"Alright, ready to go?" I asked them, eager myself.

(how could you forget about kiiiiiiiiiiiip?!?)

(If it's any consolation, I got REALLY excited when I suddenly remembered!)

(Uhh...El's, I'd say.)

(Ooo-kay....since El's disappeared for the moment(Probably because the holidays), I figured we'd continue this for a little while. I shall get things rolling.)

"Sure," I said to Star, now eager to get going. I looked around for where exactly the exit was, and noticed a bunch of doors a bit of a walk in front of us.

I grabbed my bags and headed towards the exit.

"Does anyone know how to get to the hotel?" I asked, realizing that I didn't know myself. I hope someone had a map....

"Uhh," I said, no idea where the hotel was. I actually couldn't even remember the name.

After a few moments of thinking, I remembered writing down the name and address of the hotel and stuffing it in my carry-on. As we were walking, I attempted to open my bag. I dug through a few of the comic books I had stuffed in there, making it fall out. I stopped for a minute, finding the paper before I tried to pick up my comic book.

I noticed that Kayla had stopped, so I turned around to see what was wrong.

"Did you find it?" I asked, a little relieved. I had remembered writing it down somewhere, but I didn't bring whatever I wrote it on, and I couldn't remember the name and adress by heart.
I walked back over to Kayla, deciding to sling my laptop bag over my shoulder. My hands were hurting from all the weight.


((Random, I know. But I just remembered that I'd need a laptop if I was going to Japan! I can't carry all my notebooks in one suitcase! xP))

"Yeah," I said, glancing up at Star. I handed her the piece of paper, then grabbed my comic book just before it was trampled by someone.

"The Akemi Hotel," I said.

"Akemi Hotel? Got it," I said, looking at the address. I looked out into the bustlings streets, a little nervous. I was hoping we wouldn't get lost in a city like this.

"Who wants to lead?" I asked nervously, not wanting to be responsible if we did get lost out there....

"Um..." I said, waiting for someone to say something. No one did. I sighed, then spoke.

"Guess I will..." I muttered, then looked around. I honestly had no idea where we were, so I decided I'd be brave for once and ask someone. There were about a million people running about, but I managed to catch one man's attention. He was young, and was wearing a suit.

"Uhh...Hi. Do you...do you know where the Akemi Hotel is?" I asked, stuttering as usual. He nodded his head and pointed down the street.

"Go that way, turn right and the corner. You'll see it right away," He said, then walked away.

"Thanks," I said to his back.

I turned back around to El and Star.

"I guess we go this way, then,"

(hehe, how convenient he spoke English)

(Yesh! I figured, he kind of looked like a business dude(With the suit...), he'd have to speak some English...hopefully. )

I watched the guy walk off. How convinient that he spoke English! ()

We walked out the doors, and started in the direction the man had told us the hotel was.

"I don't think it should be too hard to find," I said, hoping it wasn't a small little run-down hotel. It'd be a little hard to find it if it was...

( )

"Yeah..." I said, looking around. This place was crazy. There were buildings everywhere, and probably millions of people on the sidewalks and in the streets. It was a bit...clausterphobic(?).

We started to walk down the sidewalk, pushing past people. It actually took us maybe ten minutes to get to the corner that guy had told us to go to. We turned the corner, and it was all the same as the last street, with millions of people. I looked across the street, scanning for the hotel. I didn't see it. We started to walk some more, and, luckily, I noticed what seemed to be the entrance to a hotel. There was a doorman in front of the door, and...Yep. I looked up and could see the name of our hotel at the very top of the building.

I followed Kayla and Elandri through the crazy, crowded streets, trying not to feel claustrophobic.

We made our way to the corner the guy had told us to go, but there was no sign of the hotel. So we followed down another street, just as crowded as before. And, finally, we found the hotel.

I stepped into the lobby as soon as I could, and took a deep breath. It felt better to not be so crowded.


((Heh, I am a claustrophobic person. '^^))

We all walked into the hotel, and there was instantly much more room. I looked around, amazed at how nice the hotel was. I'v stayed at some nice hotels, but this place was crazy. The lobby was huge, and way nice.

We walked up to the front desk, and were instantly met by a smiling women.

"Um...hi."

"Hello!" The women said back, way too cheery. She continued. "May I ask what name you are under?" I hadn't even really said anything about is having any reservations, so I found that kind of weird.

"Um...maybe, 'The Cool Zone'?" I asked, realizing that Emily hadn't told us what the reservations would be under.

"Oh! Yes, one of you has already arrived. Are you....'Star' and 'Kayla'"? She asked.

"Yeah," I nodded, excited because the other person obviously had to be Kip. The women handed Star and I our room keys.

The lady at the front desk kind of scared me. She was way too happy. Once she handed me the room key, I backed away slowly.

I looked at the hotel room number, and noticed we would have to walk up some stairs to get there.

"Oh, hold on a sec," I said, walking over to the nearest bench-seat thing I could find. I sat down and took my glasses off, putting my contacts in. I also slipped my Invader Zim beanie out of my bag, and put it on my head. It was a reversible; one side was Gir's face in dog form, and the other side was Gir's face in robot form. My hair wasn't exactly "amazing" today, so I wanted to put my beanie (also known as a sockcap ) on as soon as possible. I also checked my phone, to see if my mom had called back yet.

I walked back over to Kayla, fixing my beanie a little.

"Ready to find out room?" I asked, a little sarcastic. I was hoping that, in a hotel this size, it wouldn't be that hard to find.
