Cool Zone Convention

I pretty much started cracking up at Kip's outburst. He had literally leapt out of his seat, yelling and pointing at some dude he thought was Jackie Chan.

I looked at the man outside the window closer. He was now staring at Kip, thanks to his sudden outburst. Had he really screamed that loud?

"Yeah, I don't think that's Jackie Chan," I answered myself, trying to look away. Trying to ignore what had just happened. I didn't get embarressed easily, but I was in a completely new place, with these two people that I had just met...in person, that is. I wasn't leaving a great impression for the people around us. And, sometimes, I was all for the first impression....

The Jackie Chan impersonator() was now staring at us through the window. I laughed even harder at his confused expression.

"Man...Kip, you didn't seriously think that was Jackie Chan, did you?" I asked in-between giggles.

'Well, erm....I..ah.....' I stumbled thickly over my words, gradually turning redder than a lobster.
'Nothing too see here, folks!' I announced, before realising that the Japanese people couldn't understand me.
'Ku Nihong gu.' I said shakily, 'Nani?' The Japanese turned away. I folded my arms, nodded, then sat down and promptly fell of my seat, grabbing at the table in a desperate bid for stabilty. I sent bowls and chopsticks flying across the resturaunt, spattered Star with soy sauce and sending a bowl of hot miso soup soaring towars kayla.
'Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiivers!' I yelled.

"Ah!" I yelled, ducking a bowl of soup that had been coming my way. Kip had fallen out of his seat, pretty much taking the whole dang table with him.

I meekly poked my head up.
'Uh, thank goodness that soup didn't hit you...' I said sheepishly, trailing off.

"Yeah, but that soy sauce hit me!" I said dryly, getting a napkin to try to get it off my brand new shirt. But it had already left a stain.

"Gah!!" I yelled, pouncing on Kip. "You stained my new shirt!"


((No, I probably wouldn't act like that in person. ))

"Aw, it's not that serious, Star," I said, as she practically pounced at Kip.

"Yes, it is!" I replied, pointing to the spot on my white shirt. "How am I gonna get that off!?"

I took a deep breath and stood up straight, straightening out my clothes and hair.

'Ummmm, wellll, I hope you know it wasn't in tented!' I said, holding my hands up in a gesture of fealty.
'You guys think of something to do.' I sheepishly began to attemp to clean the mess.

"Maybe we could just walk around for while, see what's here?" I said, helping clean up the table a little. I noticed out of the corner of my eye one of the guys who worked there glaring at us.

"As long as we get out of here," I started, trying desperatly to get the stain off of my white shirt, "I don't care what we do." I was suddenly glad most of the people around us didn't speak any English.

I followed the girls out of the resturaunt and onto the busy street, trying to keep track of where we were going as they randomly led me through the crowd.
'Um, where exactly are we headed?' I asked.

I looked around at this huge city. All I could think was, How are we ever gonna find our way around here? I, personally, wanted to find a comic book shop, being the mega comic book freak I am, but I'm sure the others had something else in mind.

"Um...I'm not really sure," I said, answering Kip. "Be cool to find a comic book shop, but no idea where that'd be..." I muttered.

(Holy crap! Sorry to double post, but I just did the calcuations(I'm doing homework, and thought of this), and...Kip, you're 5'9? You're freakin' tall!)

"Then let's go find out where the nearest comic book store is," I said, trying to find our hotel in the crowd.

"Can we stop by the hotel first? Thanks to someone, I need to change my shirt." I glared back at Kip for a split second before turning my attention back to the crowd, and our way out.

"Yeah, sure," I said, smiling as she glared at Kip for a second.

Eventually, we pushed our way through the crowd, and made it back to the hotel.

Once we were inside, I headed towards the stairs, trying to rememeber what floor and room number I was in. I gave up, and looked at the key thing in my pocket. Half of it was in Japanese, but there was small English text under it.

After I got up the stairs to the right floor, I excused myself and went into my room-thing. There, I dug through my suitcase as fast as I could, searching for another shirt.
I figured I wouldn't try white again, and settled for a black t-shirt that said "Green Day" on the front in in white letters. The back of the shirt said "American Idiot" in white and read block-letters. And the middle of the front of the shirt had a picture of the famous heart grenade.

While I was in the room, I decided to change around my whole look. I was known for changing clothes/getting dressed quite fast, so I was only in the room for about 5 minutes.

I took off the Gir beanie, combed through my hair, and, since I hadn't been wearing much make-up before, put on some more blush, black eyeliner, and semi-heavy gray eyeshadow.

I pulled my now-stick-straight hair over my shoulders, adjusting to bangs to where they were hanging by my right eye. Since I parted my hair that way, I had long bangs that blended with my hair, mostly on the right side, and not so much on the left side.


After I zipped up my suitcase, I was out the door. It had taken me about five minutes to do everything.



((I just realized that I had been wearing a black shirt before. But white makes things more dramatic, so let's go with that. ))

We were waiting for maybe five minutes in the lobby when Star came back down the elevator. She had changed into a Green Day shirt and had kind of fixed her hair/makeup.

"Alright...ready to go?" I asked.

"Sure!" I said, happier now that I was in a clean shirt.

"Shall we find our way to the comic book shop?" I asked in a false British accent. I did that sometimes....not sure why, though....



((Heh, random...))

I chuckled at her faking a British accent, then answered.

"Yeah...No idea where one might be. Guess we cound just wander,"

"And get lost again? Yeah right," I answered, looking around. Surely there had to be somebody who spoke some English here.

I found someone who looked somewhat reassuring and walked up to him.

"Do you know where the nearest manga store is?" I asked slowly, knowing the people around here probably called it an anime or manga shop, not a comic book shop. Then again, you never can be too sure...

To my great luck, the man, who now looked confused, started speaking in Spanish. Of all the people here, I happen to start talking to the one who speaks Spanish. Of course...

Luckily, I knew more Spanish than Japanese.

I went through my mind, trying to think of the right words.

"Uhm....Sabes donde esta...la tienda del...comic?" I asked, hoping my Spanish accent was somewhat understandable.

Star walked up to some guy in the lobby, hoping he'd know where a comics shop was. She asked in English if he knew where the nearest manga store is, and the guy answered back in Spanish. She had mentioned before that she knew some Spanish, so she luckily knew what to ask. I think. She seemed to be thinking about what to say. The man thought for a moment, then answered back.

To my relief, the Spanish dude answered after thinking for a moment.

"Oh. Si, si, senora." The man started telling me the directions, and I caught most of the words, though some of them slipped me up a bit. Some main words I got were "izquierdo, derecho, hotel." Left, right, hotel.


After he finished giving me directions, I told him "iGracias!", and walked back over to a waiting Kip and Kayla.

"I think I got most of that..." I said, unsure. "I should be able to lead the way. But if we got lost, don't blame me. You're the ones who trusted me in the first place."

"heh, right," I said, chuckling. (I seem to chuckle a lot...I usually do that anyways, but I'm doing that more often here...This ish random! )

"Alright, let's go," I said.
