Chance Meeting-An Avatar Story

(...Alright, lemme see if I can think of anything...I can't really think of anything, mostly because I've kind of changed Sorin and Summer recently, and they're a bit different from how I've been writing them here. Alright...)

~Sorin~

We all started to walk down the hallway, each of us looking into random doors. I heard a faint voice coming from one of them, and looked in. Star was there with a guard.

(...Yeah...kinda sucks...)

(Yeah, I've kinda changed Star a little bit, too. '^^)

~Star~

I noticed that everyone else had caught up to me. Since I had finished my little "pep-talk" with the guard, I figured it was time to get going. Time to get out of this place.

Since all of my anger had cooled, I didn't feel the need to hurt him anymore. So, before turning around, I kicked him in the side of the head. Not enough to knock him out or anything, but just like a warning of sorts. A warning to never hurt me again. I swiftly turned my back and walked over to everyone else.

"Okay, who else is ready to leave this place?" I asked, not really expecting an answer.

~Sorin~

I kind of smirked when Star kicked the guard in the side of the head, but tried to conceal it. I was about to say something, when Summer walked up beside me.

"Me," She said sullenly.

~Star~

One agreement was enough for me. I had to get out of this place.

"Alright then, let's go." I started to walk down the hallway, trying to remember the way out. It shouldn't be too hard; I knew we were a few floors up, and I remembered what the main floor looked like. Now the only objective was me getting out of this town without getting recognized by one of the guards that had probably made their way back outside by now....

~Sorin~

As we started to head for the exit, I spoke.

"So, where do you think we'll go next?" I asked. I was surprised to hear Summer say something from beside me.

"If you guys don't mind, at some point, could we stop at this little village in the Earth Kingdom?" She asked.

~Star~

I had started to answer Sorin's question, but Sokka interrupted me, answering Summer's question instead.

"Which little village?" he asked, slowing down a little to match Summer's pace. He walked by her side, reminding me of some monkey-dog and it's owner.

I ignored them, answering Sorin's question.

"I'm not really sure. I figure we could start heading towards Ba Sing Se again..." I said, my voice trailing off. "But honestly, I have no idea."

~Summer~

"It's called Kyoko(Real place!). It's really small..." I said, not really wanting to give too many details.

(Kyoko is just a temporary name until I can think of an actual name for the village...Any suggestions?)

(Yeah, I know it's a real place! And, I actually have this semi-long list of Japanese names that is useless otherwise. I usually use it when I'm trying to make up names for cities/towns/villages in my stories. I can email it to you if you want. '^^)

~Star~

"I'm sure that'd be fine," Sokka replied, looking over at Aang and Katara to make sure it was okay with them.

"Yeah, it'd be nice to visit a small Earth Kingdom village," Katara replied, keeping her gaze straight as she walked. I wasn't really sure if that's what she thought, or if that's what she said because she felt like she should. But I didn't bother questioning. I just kept walking.

"So, why do you want to visit this little village, Summer?" I asked.

(That'd be great! Thanks!)

~Summer~

"I...haven't been there in a long time. I want to see if it's changed at all," I said.

((Okay! I'll send it through email in a second! ^^))

~Star~

"Oh," I answered simply, pretty well closing that conversation for myself. I walked in silence; since I was ahead of everyone else, I wasn't sure if they were following close behind or if I was speeding up like I sometimes did. But it didn't really matter.

We soon came to a set of stairs. I started down them, staring straight ahead, looking out for any guards who might be on the next floor.

~Sorin~

We all followed right behind Star, keeping a sharp eye out for any guards. I'm sure none of us wanted to get into another fight.

We got to the first floor in a few minutes, and I quickly scanned for any guards. It seemed as though there weren't any, so we began to walk towards the door.

~Star~

We had made it to the first floor, and it seemed as if there weren't any guards. Sorin started to walk towards the door, and everyone else followed. But I was hesitant. What if someone out there recognized me? I didn't want anymore fighting....

I stopped in my tracks as everyone else reached the door. My mother noticed, and walked back over to me.

"What's wrong?" she asked me, seeming a little concerned.

~Sorin~

I opened the door a little, not paying attention to the voices I heard from behind me. Sounded like Star's mom had said something to her.

I looked out the door, and didn't see any guards in the immediate area.

~Star~

"No...I'm fine," I answered, taking a deep breath before walking towards the door again. I wasn't sure what had gotten in to me. Maybe it was the fact that I wasn't used to so much fighting?

And I don't just mean here at the prison. Over the course of this whole ordeal (wow, was it only one day?! O_o'), there were the guards at the prison, the Yu Yan Archers, and quite a few more enemies before I ran into Sorin and Summer & everyone else.

Maybe it was the fact that I wasn't so used to fighting so much in only a few days. But I took a deep breath, telling myself to toughen up. There could be alot more fighting ahead, and I couldn't be such a weakling. ()

I continued towards the door, and, once I got close enough, looked outside to make sure there weren't any guards. The immediate area looked clear of guards, so I continued outside.

~Sorin~

Everyone walked outside, and I soon followed, closing the door behind us. I jogged ahead of everyone a little, getting a look at what was over the hill that led down to the market. I didn't see any guards, just hundreds of people walking around, looking at the stands.

By then, everyone had come up beside me.

"Looks clear," I said, stating the semi-obvious.

~Star~

I nodded my head, telling myself that there was nothing to worry about.

"Alright, which way out of here?" I asked, forgetting myself.


(Sorry it was so short! I couldn't think of anything else. '^^)

~Sorin~


"We can either go around the whole city, sneaking around the outskirts, or go straight through and hope no one will see us or recognize us," I said.

~Star~

"Uhmm..." I started, not sure. "So it's either the quicker and more dangerous way, or the slower and safer way?" I asked.

"What do you guys think we should do?" I asked everyone. Honestly, I wanted to get out of here quickly, so I'd take my chances in going straight through town. I just wanted to see what everyone else wanted to do....

~Sorin~

"I vote for going straight through. Chances are, there's so many people, no one will even notice us. If we're sneaking around, we'll look suspicious, and that's bad."

~Star~

Well, one person agreeing was enough for me, again....

"Then let's go," I said, starting to walk forward. I was getting anxious, and I wanted to get out of this town. Who knows what else could happen if we were to stick around.

~Sorin~

We all walked down the hill, then began to make our way past all of the people. I tried to keep an eye on everyone; in this crowd, it would be easy for one of us to get caught by a guard without anyone else noticing.

~Star~

I couldn't stop my eyes from darting around, keeping a lookout for guards. If I, or anyone else, was recognized, it'd be easy for us to get caught without causing much a disruption. The people were too busy shopping and talking and doing what Fire Nation people do. They wouldn't notice if anything "strange" happened.

I pulled the long sleeves of my shirt down as far as they would go, suddenly edgy. I stood by my mother and Katara, trying to be inconspicuos.

~Sorin~

After maybe five minutes of hurriedly walking through the crowd, we came to the housing part of the city.

"We're almost there," I said, trying to sound encouraging.

~Star~

"Right," I said, mostly to myself. Then I realized that, with a group our size, it'd be easy to notice something unusual.

"Uhm, maybe we should split up or something." I spoke to Sorin in a semi-whisper. "It'd probably look a little odd if a group of this size was casually walking through the city." I suggested.

~Sorin~

"Good idea," I said back. "Who do you think should go with who?" I asked.
