Word of the Day!

.....Yeah, I have no idea WHY I'm doing this, but I just felt like doing it!!
Okay, so, everday, I'm going to post a new word, which shall be this site's "Word of the Day"! I'll mostly be getting the words from my one book "100 Words To Make You Sound Smart (c)"!

Sooo.....Yeah.....Here's today's word of the day!:

Oh, and I'll put how to pronounce the word next to the word once I can figure out how to type all of those little..doohicky-thigys, like the "a" with a line over it and stuff (wow, I'm SO tired, and I sound stupid. I am so sorry! '^^)

Anyway, I just thought this might be helpfull, like if one of you guys were writing a story, and wanted to put..."big" words in it. '^^

Hmm....The word for today is......boondoggle! A wasteful or uneventful activity!

"boondoggle".....? O_o One sec.......*Brings up the little dictionary-thingy on her screen name.....* Ah. It is also a name made up by Boy Scouts to describe some sorta knot!

Why not? If you're just randomnly posting or if you were cursing AGAIN (If we're still doing warnings, I believe you have two or three of them left.), then why shouldn't we delete your post?

Today's word of the day is....*drum roll*....Narcissit! I don't know why, but that word always sounded...cool to me! '^^

Anyway, here's the deffinition for "narcissism":

Obviously your family is worlds away from mine then. My parents would have my head if I even said "crap" or "oh my God". I even feel terrible saying it.

Fr*aking was made to be a replacement, nondirty word for the F-bomb.

Now it's considered bad all by itself.

Yeah, my mom(No real family)never really had a set religion or anything......I mean, my great-grandma(May she rest in peace), was....ah, I can't remember what she was, but she had went to church and stuff....I guess my mom was never raised like that....

Okay El, different people are raised in different ways. I know little four and five year olds whose parents are COMPLETELY FINE with them saying "Freakin'", and what not. Okay? I'm not trying to come across rude, and I'm sorry if I did. But, just because YOU think it's a bad word doesn't MAKE it a bad word. So, I'm PRETTY sure people can say it on the site. It's a whole lot better than saying the actual word....-_-

This makes no sense. Why is it okay to say it just because you think it's okay? Because we all think differently...

Again, I refer everyone to the Whomps episode of (Disney's) Recess. It would certainly shed some light onto the current issue.

This word of the day idea is cool. It'll help improve our vocabulary, which is good since I might take the SAT's this year.

I think that we all say things differently, and that as long as we're not actually cursing(Y'know, like the big cursing words that get blanked out when you post them here.), it shouldn't be that big of a deal. I mean, we all have our own beliefs. For instance, I'm not exactly religious, but I do believe in God.

Errrm... How about we just not say anything that could offend people? (Like "oh my God", "freaking", etc.)

And El, I'm not TRYING to start a fight. I'm just saying (like YOU said), that people see and think things differently. So, if someone thinks it's okay to say "Freakin'", then I'm thinking that we should let them say it. You can ignore it. Like, I don't like it when...you talk in Japanese (bad example, I know '^^), but I don't say it's not allowed, just because I don't like it. Do you see where I'm going with this.....?
