Yet another boredom buster. I'm getting good at these nothingness-stories. Heh. I really don't know what exactly it is. XD

As midnight approached, cold silence hung in the thick air. An eerie light was cast on the canopies of the prosperous forest, the full moon in complete bloom. Ghostly wisps of clouds crossed the velvety, black blanket of the night sky gently, gradually covering the small dots of shining stars, before passing over them and steadily moving towards the moon. A withdrawn wind coursed through the air; a faint rustle could be heard as it passed through the tall, imposing trees’ branches. It lifted dead and fallen leaves from the damp, mossy ground elegantly; carrying some before gravity pulled them back down, settling on the soil quietly.
Soundlessly, concealed in the trees expertly, a small owl stirred in the wind’s wake, not wasting a moment as its acute hearing caught the sounds of a small field mouse, scuttling through the short, green grasses and soil of the forest floor. The mouse nibbled on a plump, red berry tamely, unsuspecting of its near certain fate, glancing around with its innocent, calm chocolate brown eyes, searching for one of its own kin that had gone astray. Of course, its efforts would all be in vain, for the elegant, white owl was now swooping downwards towards its prey without a sound, it eyes glinting dangerously in the dappled moonlight.
In one fell swoop, the predator had caught the prey safely between its talons, hanging limp and wilted in its predator’s steely grip. It had been an easy catch on the barn owl’s part. Without missing a beat, the regal creature landed on a tree branch, casting its heart-shaped face towards the small structure crafted from deciduous twigs and other natural items from the woodlands, which was sitting on the same branch, high above the ground. The creatures, small and feeble, that sat occupying the small space, looked up expectantly. The owl looked at its chicks, beginning to feed the threesome the field mouse. The owlets sat, relishing the meal, as the parent sat, staring into the night sky.
