"Jak!" Jak said happily, smiling at Star.

Woah. I thought to myself. Kid got big.

"Hey, Jak," I said quietly. I doubted he'd remember me, seeing as though he was only one when I left.

"Hi!" He said.

~Star~

"You two obviously know each other," I told Summer, laughing. Then I turned my attention back to the kid, apperantly named Jak.

"How old are you, Jak?" I asked warmly, smiling. I loved kids.
And Jak reminded me of one of the kids back at my old Earth Kingdom village. His name was Kichirou, and he was three years old. His father was out fighting in the war, and his mother had become ill and passed away when he was three. The poor child had no one to take care of him. Even though he usually stayed with a family friend, he spent alot of time with me. I was kind of like the babysitter or something to him.
He had been the sweetest child I had ever met. He always thought of others before himself, no matter who that 'other' was. And he was very smart.
I spent three years 'babysitting' him, and we grew close. It was like having a little brother, although I was an only child.
Besides my own parents, he was the one I had the hardest time leaving when I ran away. I always wondered where he was now. Maybe he was in the Fire Nation, working as a slave? Or maybe he managed to escape, and ran to a nearby village to seek refuge. I couldn't even bring myself to think about the third place he could be.

I was brought back to reality when someone else started talking. I managed to get lost in my thoughts alot.


(Sorry that was kinda...random-ish. I just figured I should put a not-so-short post this time. And I couldn't really think of much else to put. '^^)

"Eight," He replied happily, his smile as wide as his sister's.

"What's your name?" He asked Star.

(...That was really short. Sorry. ^^')

(That's okay. Mine's probably gonna be really short, too. '^^)

~Star~

Jak told me he was eight years old, then asked what my name was.

"My name is Star," I answered simply.

I kept looking around, examining what I could see of the village. I could see a few soldiers walking around, patrolling, but I didn't think any of them could see me. If they could, I'm sure they didn't suspect anything.


(Yep, like I said, that was short. And kinda filler-ish. Man, I've been writing alot of filler-ish chapters lately. '^^)

(I was thinking they were in the house now. ^^' Or maybe Jak came outside to greet them...yeah, that sounds good...)

~Summer~

"Hi, Star!"

"Let's..uh..let's get inside," Aleks said, shooting a glare at one of the soldiers, and trying to get us inside the small house.

(Oohh, okay. Sorry 'bout that. '^^)

~Star~

"Right," I answered Aleks, following everyone in to the house. I looked around again as everyone else was silent. It seemed as if no one could come up with something to say.

"So...now what?" I asked akwardly. I could'nt think of anything else to say. So I laughed nervously, realized the pain in my stomach, and stopped laughing.


(Wow, I really hate this. I've been having this Writer's Block-type thingy lately, and I can't think of anything good to write. - -')

~Summer~

"I'll go get you guys some food," Ema chirped(That sounds...weird) up, starting to walk to their little kitchen-thing.

I let out a sigh. Why were we even there?! All I had really wanted to do was see the village again, find out what was going on. I mean, sure, I guess some part of me had really wanted to see Ema and Aleks again, but I hadn't really planned on it.

(Yay!)

Suddenly, Star came up behind me, then spoke.

"Oh..uh...yeah," I answered, lost in thought.

"This is where I lived when I was little..."
