'Twas the Vikings, I believe. Columbus was a jerk who tortured/killed the Indians who were already here, beat his crew, took the credit for *supposedly* seeing land first from one of his crew, and was just an all-around d-bag. He even died thinking that America was Asia.

A while ago, when we were learning about Columbus and his journies to America in my Social Studies class, right?
Well, we had this whole little "court" thing, and our (awesome! ) teacher picked out some kid to be Columbis, a lawyer for "Columbus", two Indian witnesses, and lawyers for the "Indians". And everyone else in the class got to be the jury! It was SO much fun! AND it was awesome!!

Anyway, we (the "jury") got to decide whether Columbus was innocent when it came to being cruel to the Indians and stuff. All the kids (who were Columbus, the Indians, and the lawyers and stuff) kept messing up and accidently saying the wrong stuff! And our teacher was the judge, but the jury chose whether Columbus was innocent or not. Heh...random....But it was SOOOO much fun (and really funny!!)
